Do you use Google Classroom? Check out these ways to integrate it with your magazine!
Sign-in With Google Classroom
Go to digital.scholastic.com and click “Google Classroom” to register with your school’s Google account. Enter or select the Google account you use with your school.
Step 2. Accept security permissions.
Select “Allow” to allow Scholastic to view your classes, class rosters, and related email accounts. These are only required to allow students to log in using their school’s Google accounts.
Step 3. Enter your access code.
Your magazine subscription comes with an access code to activate your account online. (This code can be found on the cover of your Teacher’s Guide throughout the school year.) Type your access code here.
Step 4. Import your classes.
Select “Import My Classes” to seamlessly import your class roster from Google Classroom. Follow instructions to select specific classes and grades, and click "Import."
Step 5: Enjoy!
Your students now have access to your magazine! You and your students can use your school’s own Google credentials to access your magazine website in the future—simply click “Google Classroom” to log in.
Class changes? No problem!
To import another class, resync a class if a student joins your Google Classroom list, or manage student access to specific products:
Log into your magazine website, and select “My Dashboard.” Click “Manage Access” to make any changes throughout the year.
Have a Co-Teacher?
Each co-teacher can separately follow the steps above to:
1. Register on the magazine website, using their own Google Classroom account
2. Import your shared class(es) from Google Classroom
Copy our interactive Google Quizzes to your Google Drive account to view and even edit them in Google Forms, and assign the quiz to your students. Student responses will be sent back to your copy of the form in your Google Drive account.
In order to copy Google Form quiz files from our Google Drive account into yours, Classroom Magazines must request limited access to your Google Drive account.
This is the industry-standard permissions popup you will see the first time you attempt to copy a Google Quiz from our Drive account into your own:
Classroom Magazines can't see or download your files. The only way our Google Drive account will "see and download" or "view and manage" your Google Drive account will be in copying an assessment file directly from our account to yours.
This is a technical requirement from Google Drive. Rest assured that we cannot see or copy your files, nor can we see or copy any data or metadata about your account or your students' accounts. Once the quiz has been copied to your account, we can no longer see any interaction with the file by you or your students.
This security clearance is industry-standard and required by apps that integrate with Google Drive. Please note that using Google Forms is completely optional. You do not need to give any permissions to use the rest of the website.
